National Small Business Week was created by the Small Business Administration (SBA) more than 50 years ago. Its purpose was to honor and celebrate small businesses and entrepreneurs in the United States. This year Small Business Week will be held from April 30th through May 6th. Small businesses have many ways to make the most of this week-long event.
Use hashtags
During Small Business Week many businesses will be interacting online. This is a good time to join the discussion on social media. The use of hashtags such as #smallbusinessweek, #smallbusiness, #supportsmallbusinesses, and #shoplocal will help your posts be searchable in the conversation. Additionally, use hashtags related to your specific industry. During the week, consumers are encouraged to support small businesses because using these hashtags will help them find you online.
Take advantage of free resources
Check out this year’s webinar by the SBA Virtual Summit, happening online from May 2 to May 3, 2023. Additionally, there are free webinars hosted by organizations for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Likely, your local chamber of commerce will also hold networking events and small business pop-ups. Lots of organizations also offer resources that are aimed at empowering entrepreneurs like legal clinics and bookkeeping webinars.
Thank your customers
National Small Business Week makes for a great time to show customer appreciation. Send an email to your customers informing them of National Small Business Week. Show your appreciation for their support of your small business. Thank them for being part of your success. Additionally, you could offer a special promotion to customers or exclusive products.
Collaborate with other small businesses
Team up with other small businesses. Strengthen your reach by donating part of your weekly proceeds to a local charity. Networking with other small businesses will increase your visibility while also showing your support for the local community and your customers.
Share your story
Let your followers connect with your small business by sharing your journey with them. A social media post highlighting your beginnings and how far you’ve come can inspire support for your business. Additionally, you can post a series of Instagram Reels that showcase your company and its brand to promote your business.
These five tips are a great way to celebrate National Small Business Week. They can also be used throughout the year to make an impact on your small business. For more ways to leverage your small business book a free consultation with Peachtree Rose Marketing at (210) 390-6404.
